Blog 2 - Arduino Project - 29/03/2019

Stage of blog: Feeling
The first bit of this Arduino project was figuring out what sensors to use on the patch. It was then decided to use three different grove sensors;
  • Analog joystick
  • Analog mixing desk knob
  • Analog mixing desk fader
An analog sensor measures the proportional value of 0.1 to 0.9 continuously, which makes it more precise than a digital sensor with the values working between 0 - 1. Analog sensors output a continuous signal where they output a discrete electrical value one step at a time (Medeiros and and Wanderley, 2014).

These were chosen because of they're different jobs on the Puredata patch. The analog joystick will control the sparkler GEM and how it will move around the screen. The analog mixing desk knob will control the pitch of the chromatic scale and the fader with control the volume.
